Summary/Abstract: In the proposed research study, the authors present the results of a questionnaire survey carried out in a secondary school in Slovakia. It was focused on students’ experiences gained during the first two waves of the COVID-19 pandemic. The questionnaire surveys were carried out in two phases within an ongoing international research project focused on the limits of online learning in secondary schools and on new opportunities brought by the involuntary transfer from school-based to distance learning during the pandemic crisis. The research sample consists of secondary school students who were questioned about their experiences with online lesson during the first wave of the pandemic in June 2020, and in the academic year 2020/2021, they were conducted a questionnaire on their experiences gained during the second pandemic wave. Even though the results highlight certain issues and fields which need to be improved, it can be assumed that students showed overall satisfaction with the live-streamed lessons during the first two waves of the COVID-19 pandemic.
