Summary/Abstract: The Putna Assembly on August 15, 1871 represented for Romanians every where a new impetus given to the national movement. The events that took place in a Bukovinian village were widely reported by the historians of the time and would be remembered long after. An overview of several newspapers from Bucharest and Iasi completes this account of the event. The analysis of these newspapers followed the impact and significance that the Putna Assembly produced on the Romanian society.
