Modern Age: The Role Of Pornographic Culture In Fragmentation Of Intimacy

Summary/Abstract: The central task of the research is reflected in an attempt at defining the relation- ship between pornographic culture and organization of human intimacy as the focal point of emotional communication. The equation of power, with which pornographic industry is crumbling the spaces of intimacy, is reflected in creating desirable patterns of sexual be- haviour and living by means of aggressive advertising tactics, thus crushing the sense of reality and real relationships. Although they are not labeled negative forms of prohibition typical of institutional functioning of power, pornographic contents contain enough influ- ences for changing communication codes, while reconfiguring intimacy into a system of (emancipated) slavery to other people's desires.
