Summary/Abstract: This article presents the historiographical contributions relating to the built cultural heritage of the southern part of Bukovina. A lot of works, studies and articles deal with aspects related to the types of peasant constructions, planimetrics, construction systems, elements of traditional architecture, architectural evolution of housing, description of peasant households, ornamental architecture. Among the authors of these works we recall: Tancred Bănățeanu, Mihai Camilar, Nicolae Cojocaru, Maria Coara, Gheorghe Bratiloveanu, Dumitru Rusan, Marcel Zahariciuc, Mihai Spânu, Paul H. Stahl, Paul Petrescu, Aurel Prepeliuc, Maria Margineanu, Alina Gaşanger, Dimitrie Dan, Dragoş Luchian, Ilie Colban, Gheorghe Rusu, Filon Lucan, Dimitrie Rusan, Valerian I. Procopciuc, Ion Cernat, Paula Popoiu. Works about the traditional peasant household, the Bukovinian rural architecture, the topographical description of the settlements of Bukovina can also be found in the German historiography. Here we mention the works: Bukowina, in Die österreichisch-hungarische Monarchie in Wort und Bild [Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in Word and Image], Vienna, 1899, and Die Bukowina.
