Summary/Abstract: The relations between the two sexes, masculine and feminine, in humanity, beyond their real antagonistic variations, can be referred to and modified by imaginary and symbolic structures, of which the reference to a third hermaphrodite/androgynous gender has been recognized. and valued from Plato to C.G. Jung. We will study in particular the treatment of this meta-sexed imaginary through the work of the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard.
