Summary/Abstract: In this article, my intention is to analyse the way the national health system of Postcommunist Romania evolved from the relationship public-private point of view. In order to attain such an analysis and to have a good understanding of this sinuous evolution from Semashko to Bismarck model, I will concentrate, in the first section of my article, over the specific manner that allowed the metamorphosis of the legislative framework, so as to ensure the phased transition from a centralized model of the public health system to a liberal one. In the second section you will find an analysis of the reforms that the health system in Postcommunist Romania went through, the final section having the role of emphasizing the role played, in this transitive context, by the National House of Health Insurance.
