Summary/Abstract: The reviewed book discusses the potential effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the world economy. The book views Covid-19 as an external shock and considers the potential consequences of this shock and the possible socio-economic changes that may follow. On the one hand, the book is interesting and makes some important points, on the other, shocks can occur under any set of circumstances; thus, many of the considerations presented are not, in fact, specifically linked to the pandemic. Hence, while the book purports to work with the „crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic“, it deals mainly with socio-economic risks at the macro and micro levels and crisis scenarios in general. The risks and scenarios are only as indicative and current as the quality of the predictions and forecasts on which they are based. The book can, therefore, be recommended to readers who like to think about the future, civilisational trends in general and changes in modern society.
