Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the work of one of the leading Belarusian directors, Evstignei Mirovich. By accident he came to Minsk, where he remained forever. Soon he was offered the position of artistic director of the Belarusian State Theater in Minsk. It was a great call for him. Within a short time he was able to gather talented people, teach them and make them professionals. Mirovich composed a special program that aimed to show the richness of the culture and history of Belarus (1. ethnography and folklore, 2. important, key moments of Belarusian history, 3. Belarusian legends, 4. the present day). As a result, the theater enjoyed enormous popularity. However, political changes in the second half of the 1920s caused the BST-1 to have a crisis. It was deepened by the policy of Sovietization of Belarusian society. As a result, in 1931 Mirovich was forced to leave the position of artistic director.
