Summary/Abstract: The monastery of Bous is closely connected with the early post-war history of the Saarland, its reconstruction and the path to the European Saar Statute of 1955. This article looks at the pro-European popular missions in the Saar in the context of politics at both municipal and state level, up to and including world mission.
