Summary/Abstract: Tosko Iliev, after graduating as a lawyer in 1922, goes to Vienna to study singing. When he returns in Bulgaria, he is forced to perform in some administrative works to gain for himself. Towards the middle of the 1930s he finds himself and becomes one of the Stara Zagora’s opera enthusiasts and creates the prototypes of numerous operatic characters. He later becomes the first director of the brand new State Opera of Stara Zagora, but Tosko Iliev is forced to resign due to the ambitions of communist party members. Despite of all, he continues upholding the true values of the art and to create until his very last earthly moment.
