Summary/Abstract: This paper is concerned with reviewing the literature that covers the concept of culture and aims to analyze its multi-level and multi-layer characteristics. Starting from the many definitions given over time for culture by anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists, and other researchers, some of the characteristics of culture have been identified. One of them is the fact that culture can be analyzed at different levels, and each level consists of multiple elements. The aim of reviewing the existing models from the literature was to identify which are the common levels and layers for those models. Based on that, a model that encompasses both levels and layers is proposed.
