Summary/Abstract: One of the most important rituals in rural areas is wedding. The Slovak Lutheran community in Nădlac considered wedding to be one of the three important moments in the life of an individual (together with the birth and death). Certain rituals can be fallowed in time, and their evolution can explain the evolution of the community in which the ritual took place. Passing form endogamous to exogamous marriages, Lutheran Slovak community suffered a series of changes. These changes were accelerated by the fact that the ethno-religious community developed its cooperation with other ethnic or religious groups.
