Summary/Abstract: The paper contains results of research on employees in public and private sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina toward investment into formal education. Assessment of these factors was obtained using nonlinear regression model – logit and it is estimated by the method of maximum likelihood estimation - MLE. According to results, we concluded that the following characteristics have a positive impact on investment in formal education of employed persons in B&H: human capital, financial status, certain business functions and level of responsibility within the company, while a negative influence have: certain demographic characteristics of persons (year, marital status), and certain business functions and level of responsibility within the company. We also find that some factors that intuitively should be significant are not. Were also analyzed preferences of employees in our country according to the type of education: the traditional method of education, and education supported by use of ICT. In addition, the results will show the specific reasons why the respondents have entered a formal education. The analysis was performed on a sample of 365 respondents using STATA 11 software tools.
