The destiny of the characters in V. Pelevin's short story "Želtaja strela" (The Yellow Arrow)

Summary/Abstract: Interested in a number of philosophical problems, Viktor Pelevin meditates in one of his short stories entitled The Yellow Arrow the idea of human existence and the meaning of life. The present study aims at analyzing the writer’s approach of this theme. At the same time, the article discusses the notion of time in Postmodernism as opposed to the Modernist view, deconstruction of fundamental truths and the ontological crisis specific for the contemporary world.
