Summary/Abstract: Erkânnâmes, which represent the collective memory of the Babagân branch of Bektashism, are the essential works, consisting of primary texts and subtexts describing one or more Cem Erkan. It is known that there are some critical problems in Bektashi studies in Turkey, considering the concepts of Erkânnâme and Erkan are not fully understood in some studies. Some manuscripts published under the name of Erkânnâmes are not Erkânnâmes, and there are also Erkânnâmes published under other names than Erkânnâme. This study attempts to define the Erkânnâmes, some fundamental issues about the Erkânnâmes and the basic mistakes in the publication of the Erkânnâmes have been touched upon. In addition, a brief introduction of the Erkânnâme publication in Turkey has been made in the article. The main sources used in the article are the written texts of the Bektashi order, the Erkânnâmes and academic studies on the subject. In the study, firstly, the importance of Erkânnâmes was explained, and then a new definition of Erkânnâme was made by reviewing the definitions that have been made to date. After discussing the basic features of the Erkânnâmes, the Erkânnâme publication in Turkey was reviewed, and finally, a bibliographic essay was prepared about the Erkânnâmes published in Turkey. This study, which draws attention to some fundamental erroneous practices in the academic studies prepared on the subject, is intended to be a roadmap for researchers who will study the Babagân Bektashism in Turkey
