Summary/Abstract: Comics and cartoon magazines are one of the most important elements that determine and document the sense of humor of the period in which they were published. Cartoons are the most vivid examples of what society laughs about from past to present. Umut Sarikaya is a cartoonist who has appeared in magazines such as "Kemik", "Lombak", "Penguen", "Uykusuz" and "Naber" with his cartoons and humorous articles. In his cartoons, he touches on human relations, daily life in metropolises and in the countryside, and current social and political issues. He also makes references to Turkish folklore in his articles and cartoons. There are Köroğlu narratives in Sarikaya's four cartoons, which are the subject of this study. In these cartoons, there is the motif of "punishment by blinding" and Köroğlu’s struggle with the Bolu Bey. Köroğlu has been drawn by parodying his father and Bolu Bey, in the exact opposite of their features in the narratives. The inconsistency in time, place, people's speech, clothing and character traits constitute the humor in these cartoons. In this way, Umut Sarikaya arouses the reader's curiosity about Köroğlu’s main narrative. The interest created by Köroğlu, which has changed from his time to the time of the humor reader, is extremely important for the preservation and passing to the next generations of folklore elements.
