Summary/Abstract: Culture creates itself through communication. The technology-shifted change in communication in society reveals a necessity of reconsidering culture. Today, the change offset by the developments in the internet and communication technologies, especially, the entrance of computers and the internet into the lives of individuals, is seen as a new cultural process and is expressed with the concept of “digital culture”. Digital culture; Although it is known by many different names such as cyber culture, electronic culture, internet culture, virtual culture, information culture, is a concept that defines the idea that technology significantly shapes the emotions, thoughts, the way of communication and interaction and the values of individuals. The sum of which can be defined as Culture. Most of today's digital communication research focuses on the current position, roles, values, perceptions and attitudes of the individual through this basic definition. The aim of this study is to discuss whether digitalization re-creates traditional culture by using it or whether what we call digital culture is a new cultural field in itself, and furthermore, to reveal the transformation of individuals and culture with the effect of digitalization.
