BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT IN CROATIAN COMPANIES

Summary/Abstract: The main objectives of this paper were to define the concepts related to business processes and business process management, to determine the state and trends of this topic in the world, to explore the current state of of business processes management in Croatian companies and discuss research results. For the theoretical part of the paper the most relevant books and articles in the field of business processes were used. For the empirical part of the paper the questionnaire was used. It consists of two key parts: A) Process oriented organization B) General part. The study sample consisted of 200 large, medium and small Croatian companies. By using the methods of descriptive and inferential statistics it was determined that the process maturity of Croatian firms is 4.8769. To further advance in the process maturity Croatian companies have to develop process culture, educate employees about the process orientation and methods and adopt process terminology.
