Summary/Abstract: In order to gain competitive advantage many companies are focusing on reorganization of their business processes and implementing process-based management. In this context, assessing process performance is essential because it enables individuals and groups to assess where they stand in comparison to their competitors. In this paper, it is argued that process performance measurement is a necessity for a modern process-oriented company and it should be supported by using process performance indicators. Based on the extensive literature review process performance measurement guideline was developed. Defining an appropriate guideline helps to clarify and systemize this field, but also represents a critical step for business practitioners since it could influence the success of organizational performance measurement system development.
