Summary/Abstract: Primary goal of our research is clarification of the process of decision making in selection of postgraduate studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina with special emphasis on key factors and motivation for the selection. The research was conducted using an on-line tool on a limited sample, collecting opinions of 214 students in Bosnia and Herzegovina who graduated during 2009. Structured questionnaire, which was used for research purposes, is an authors’ product and represents synthesis of various concepts which are reflecting different factors affecting process of selection of postgraduate studies, such as institutionally controlled marketing, personal influence, socio-economic status, academic achievement, reputation of an institution, costs, financial support, teaching staff, possibilities for employment, etc. Most students agree that postgraduate studies are good investments for students in long-term. Personal satisfaction and achievement are the most important factors for selection of postgraduate studies. Beside others, key factor in selection of concentration is quality of curriculum. Most students are going to continue with their education at the same faculty and the same concentration.
