The educational value of contact with nature

Summary/Abstract: Children require contact with nature in order to develop harmoniously which is increasinglybeing displaced by this world's wide range of temptations. It is necessaryto seek other values and promote them as educational challenges in working withchildren. Meeting with nature brings a number of values and possibilities to thedevelopment of cognitive processes, multi-sensory activity, and creativity. Forestkindergartens or boarding schools and „live” education are an interesting alternativeto working in educational institutions and the proposal of the so-calledpedagogy of outdoor education and pedagogy of survival.
