Summary/Abstract: Тoday, cinema is an art, accompanied by its own sciences, its own film criticism and its own film journalism. But what happened in the years immediately after its birth. There was a Word – describing something new and unknown; admiring a technical invention that even his fathers did not believe in; recreating the atmosphere that prevailed during the first sessions and the reactions of the surprised audience… It is from this Word, preserved to this day in the advertisements printed in the then Bulgarian periodicals, that modern film criticism is born. This article with the help of concrete examples, traces this process of turning the „reclamo” („cry of praise”) into an intellectual activity.
