Mystical moments in the poetry of S.B. Hroboň

Summary/Abstract: The paper Mystical Moments in the Poetry by S.B. Hroboň evolves from criticism of the tradition of Slovak literary historiography, which often considers mysticism in romantic poetry as a negative phenomenon, disqualifying artistic texts. It draws upon research by Oskár Čepan, who has pointed out the mystical messianic line in Slovak romanticism. The author defines and characterizes the phenomenon of mysticism and its possible forms of presence in the texts. Finally, she explains the mystical moments in the poem by romantic poet Samo Bohdan Hroboň with the title Prietaj.
