Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present connections between the issues of body and corporeality in contemporary culture, and reflection and practice of acoustic ecology. The concept of acoustic ecology developed by Raymond Murray Schafer (1933–2021), the theoretical framework for the article, refers to the significance of our contact with the body and to the subjective assessment of its well-being. “Ear cleaning” exercises, soundwalks and other ways of developing acoustic sensitivity are also discussed. Developing sensitivity towards sounds comprises all acoustic stimuli, not only musical sounds. Such activity is found to be particularly important, especially in the context of contemporary sensory overload and our over-stimulation from the environment.
