Summary/Abstract: FinTech is a new financial industry that applies technology to improve financial activities. This new wave of cutting-edge technologies combining digitalization with automation, computational intelligence and the power of data will soon set new standards in the financial sector. Many authors call such technologies as to be disruptive, in the sense of radically changing the financial services industry. In this paper, our focus is on blockchain, high-frequency algorithmic trading and deep learning, which are expected to have a tremendous impact on financial services in the near future, revolutionizing how financial institutions operate and how consumers relate to and interact with money.
