Landmarks of Romanian spirituality abroad: Ioan Miloș

Summary/Abstract: This article is meant to point out the syncronic local values of the Romanian community in Serbia and the effort of their modernization according to a larger axiological area, through the creation of one of the most important representative poet and translator, Ion Miloş. He belongs to the generation that set up the literature in Romanian language in former Yugoslavia and has a great contribution to its shape during the sixties of the last century. In 1959, he is forced to emigrate to Sweden, where he has a major activity as a writer and a translator in no less than four languages: Romanian, Swedish, Serbian and French. He has an impressive work, with about 100 original or translation volumes in Romanian, Swedish, Serbian, French, English, Macedonian and Persian. Being a poet of a special sensibility and originality, this article documents and shows us his complex and fascinating portrait.
