Summary/Abstract: The text is based on a survey of wedding musicians. It attempts to assess the functioningof this industry from the perspective of people who play at weddings professionally.The analysis concerns a number of cultural and social aspects, including theeducation of band members, their aspirations, motivation, desires, attitudes, the advantagesand disadvantages of their job, as well as their own assessment of their professionaltraining and their business. The research has shown that outside large cities,wedding music is usually played by young people without music education, for whomit is a side job. They have a positive attitude towards their job, like it, they are satisfiedwith it and it satisfies their ambitions. Despite no music education, they feel wellpreparedfor their job and try to do it as best they can. According to respondents, thebiggest advantage of this job are good earnings, whereas the biggest disadvantage isworking on the weekends and public holidays.
