What is a writer (on the Internet)?

Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the presence of writers in the Internet. The case study of 85 websites, allows the discussion of their motivations, strategies and ways of communication with the reader. Technological transformations provide new tools which simply give a new shape to existing processes of the literary. such as the reversal of the hierarchies, diversification or personalisation of the reading matter. Internet is no threat for traditional (“printed”) hierarchies, rather serving as their supplement. Web is but a passage for authors aspiring to the mainstream. The Internet introduces a new model of a writer to literary scene – one that uses web tools to compete with established authors (Author 2.0.).
