Summary/Abstract: The text provides a survey of contemporary phenomena from within the literary studies, discussed in the current issue: the author and the media, institutions of literary life, methodologies of the research on literary culture. The author formulates two postulates: to suit the discipline to the new arrangement of communication scene and to recognise and include new trends in thinking on culture and their methodologies.
