Summary/Abstract: Transcription of hip-hop lyrics in the light of the theory of the poem The article presents an original convention of the notation of hip-hop songs. Initially the author discusses the graphic layout of texts attached in the format of printed materials to the Polish hip-hop albums as well as the conventions emerging in American scholarly literature. He claims that they are not sufficient. Presenting his own convention of notation he points to the rules of the division of the text into verses, the use of the capital and lower case as well as punctuation. The reflection is accompanied by the transcripts of the fragments of Polish hip-hop songs.
