Summary/Abstract: The novel The Forgotten Garden written by the Australian writer Kate Morton develops an atmosphere of mystery and has the structure of a puzzle. The inter-generational narrative is built around three women who are in search of love, of identity. The three axes which intersect and create kaleidoscopic perspectives are time, place (chronotope) and characters. Different places acquire a variety of meanings in different years and for different characters and this will be the focus of our paper, as well as some narratological tools for doing that.
