Summary/Abstract: This paper highlights the main instances of irony in Sylvia Plath’s celebrated poem “Lady Lazarus” which are closely connected to the reconciliation of opposites, blasphemous associations, dédoublement of the poet(‘s persona), vengeance against the patriarchal society, theatricalization of suffering.
