Summary/Abstract: This study aims at understanding the representations of first-year Master’s students from the French department of the University of Saïda regarding the possibility of maintaining the activity of oral competence in the era of COVID-19. In the formal framework of this quest, the mastery of digital technologies applied among these students was evaluated in order to ensure continuity of training. Besides, an equal amount of attention was paid to the use of images as a didactic medium for teaching/learning oral competence. Along this study, the students became aware of the integration of these digital means into their student life. On this note, the image plays a significant role in triggering authentic verbal situations. It enables the development of oral competence.
