Summary/Abstract: Emergency Ordinance no. 50/2022 for the regulation of work in the maritime field, deals, among others, with the seafarer's employment contract, which is the individual employment contract concluded between the seafarer and the shipowner or a representative thereof, in accordance with the collective labor agreement concluded between the shipowner and the representative organization of the navigators. The seafarer's employment contract shall continue to have effect (paragraph 3) as long as the seafarer is held captive on or off the ship as a result of acts of piracy or armed robbery, regardless of the date of termination.
