Summary/Abstract: The process of founding the “Popular Unity” Party is examined in the article. It was influenced by different factors. In the first place should be mentioned the pressure brought to bear on the Genadievist wing by the leaders of the Popular Liberal Party whose efforts for his isolation coincided with the objectives of the Alexander Tsankov Government. Subjected to pressure from two sides, Dr N. Genadiev’s adherents were compelled to look for new, more flexible aspects of their political activity. The ideas no considerable chances of realization mainly on account of the monopoly established by the Democratic Accord on the country’s public life. Notwithstanding the difficulties, the Genadievists worked purposefully for the realization of these ideas. Dr N. Genadiev’s assassination dealt a serious blow to the formation of “Popular Unity”. Thanks to the energetic activity of his followers the Party was founded in December 1923. The political realities in Bulgaria predetermined its further uneasy struggle for winning a perimeter of action. Irrespective of that “Popular Unity” had its place as part of the party political system in the 20s of the 20th century.
