Summary/Abstract: Ageism is a relatively widespread social phenomenon, the presence of which occurs in various forms in human society for a long time. Some authors associate the hostile attitude towards older members of society with the so-called western culture. However, under the influence of globalization, we are increasingly encountering elements of ageism in Eastern cultures as well. The aim of the paper is to offer the results of our own empirical findings focused on the reflection of ageism in Slovak society. A mixed research design was used to obtain the data. In the quantitative part of the research, socially important organizations were selected through content analysis, with representatives of which we carried out the qualitative part of the research using semi-structured interviews. The total number of members of the research group was 14. The obtained results confirm the persistent differences in opinions on the occurrence of ageism in Slovak society.
