On Some Contemporary Questions of Slavonic Etymology

Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the current state of etymological research in Slavonic languages and sketches some tendencies in its evolution. In addition to the semantic side of etymological explications (semantic parallels and established semantic changes etc.), attention is also paid to other phenomena (e. g. „ghost-words“, folk etymology) and the introduction of dialectal (regional) etymological dictionaries.
