MONASTERY “ST. DEMETRIUS” NEAR SKOPJE - CULTURAL AND CULTURE ORTHODOX HERITAGE

Summary/Abstract: In this text, we focus on the overall cultural heritage and spiritual richness of Marko’s Monastery complex – the magnificent frescos, architecture, the ancient artifacts of religious service, the gospels, crosses, icons, sculpture works and other cultural goods, which were found or today are situated in the monastery gallery, ethnomuseum with traditional water mill and oven, the memorial room of Kiril Pejčinović. What draws special attention is the detailed and originally present face of the Holy Mother of God, which makes Marco’s Monastery a representative and unique example of historical, spiritual, cultural and cult Orthodox heritage.
