Summary/Abstract: Mihai Cimpoi’s most recent Eminescological contributions are dedicated to the new perspectives from which the poet is read today and the ethical-aesthetic issues raised by Eminescu’s writings. How does the Eminescian myth relate to the obsessions of postmodernity? First, the postmodern man, preoccupied with the vast, enormous and grandiose, will find himself in an Eminescu of monumental projects, of broad aspirations, of encyclopedic temptations. But if postmodernity is fragmentary and eclectic, the Eminescian spirit is synthesizing, holistic. Fragmentism and “postmodern disorder” will seek ‒ in the “Eminescu grid” – its natural order, its logical and metaphysical basis. The entire Eminescu’s creation is a plea for the survival of values and moral notions.
