Summary/Abstract: The war of the 1990’s in Bosnia and Herzegovina has led to an unprecedented outpouring of English-language literature regarding the country’s history. Most English-language works have focused on the war, its causes, and its immediate aftermath. The recent literature can be divided into the following categories: journalist accounts, personal memoirs, works concerning the demise of Yugoslavia, books on morality and justice, synthetic histories, works of original research, “Duets” (books with related videotapes), and collections of articles. Only a few scholarly works based on original research have been published in English concerning Bosnia during the past two decades, but they have included some of exceptional quality and scholarly merit.
