X. DayAfterTomorrow Festival

Summary/Abstract: This is the tenth time the Szigligeti Theatre has organized the DayAfterTomorrow Festival (HolnapUtán Fesztivál) in Oradea. From among the performances invited to the event taking place between April 27 and May 1, 2022, Gábor Beretvás highlights as memorable the performance of the Oradea company entitled The Tiger and Pál Mácsai’s one-man show Now Tell Me, Pista! He also offers glimpses of the performance When The Moon Shines On The Second Hand Shop of the Tamási Áron Theatre of Sfântu Gheorghe directed by Radu Afrim; The Suicide, a recent performance of the local company directed by Bálint Botos; the play Tomfairy staged by Péter Kárpáti and the Secret Company from Budapest; The Savior by Réka Kincses performed by the Horizon Group; as well as a new theatrical take on Dogville directed by András Urbán, played by the Kosztolányi Dezső Theatre from Subotica. The festival, which was complemented by related programmes, is deemed a success by the author.
