Summary/Abstract: The article is emphasizing the most important activities in the actors’ development. The instincts are all the reflexes we were born with, as in theatre, they represent the ability for finding organic solutions. Our primary emotions are the source for what we feel, and they are in tight connection with the instincts. There are different types of emotions in theatre: the emotions transmitted by the text, the emotion of the performance that is perceived by each member of the audience as part of his / her cultural background and life experience. All these, together with different symbols, perceptions and memories will need to be well controlled by the actor on stage. Ofelia Popii’s article is a manual for the young (and not only) actors, as she has a great experience on stage.
