Summary/Abstract: A temporary exhibition was organized at the “Grigore Antipa” National Museum of Natural History in Bucharest, entitled 100 Years of Zoology in Romania. Memories about the Future, and opened on 21st November 2018. On this occasion, the relationship between master Mihai Băcescu and his disciple Marian-Traian Gomoiu, young researcher, was recalled. Among the outstanding zoologists, to whom homage was paid, Dr. Mihai Băcescu had a direct and overwhelming influence on the young researcher, who became his doctoral student and, later, asserted himself as a specialist in marine ecology. Glimpses into events and thoughts about the fruitful col laboration between the two scientists, in the laboratories in Bucharest and Constanţa, enriched with moments from their field work prove the strong professional and emotional bond between Professor Mihai Băcescu – “mas ter wizard” and Professor Marian-Traian Gomoiu, his disciple.
