Summary/Abstract: The annual statistics show that a very high number of children are born out of wedlock in the Czech Republic. In some cases it is planned, in others it is a failure in life. It is well-known fact that there has been an increase of cases where the child’s father is not legally determined before the birth. There are a very high number of fatherless children especially with mothers who have only the basic education, who are on the edge of social exclusion and on the edge of poverty.
