Summary/Abstract: In March 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine implemented the provisions on compulsory quarantine on the territory of Ukraine in connection with the pandemic caused by the Covid-19 virus. The sanitary restrictions limited the possibility of realizing fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution of Ukraine including freedom of conscience and religion. Access to religious services, contacts with clergy were limited, self isolation was ordered for clergy in the senior age and limits were introduced for people present during religious services. The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations undertook to cooperate with state authorities in reducing the spread of the epidemic. However, its actions in the field of ensuring the fullest possible implementation of the religious freedom of citizens turned out to be ineffective and insufficient in the face of the decided regime policy of the state.
