The administrative and legal status of a prisons

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the legal position of prisons as entities established to perform administration providing services in the field of public security. The considerations contained in the work confirm the thesis that these entities have all the features of public (administrative) establishments, therefore, to fully present their role, tasks, organization, and principles of operation, it is worth referring to the achievements of the theory of an administrative establishment. Considering administrative and legal aspects in research on the issues of prisons is a significant complement to criminal law, criminological and sociological research.
