Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the correlations and cooperating elements of the 1979 interpretation of The Tempest and the applied music, with the methods of reception aesthetics and semiotics. It draws a parallel between the deliberately ordered processes of mise en scene and musical composition, moreover it charts the interpretative emphases and symbology expressed in the cross section of applied music, direction and dramatic text.
