Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to examine the effect of incentives schemes on employees’ productivity in private organizations in Nigeria. The paper also researched on the useful information that would help private organizations apply and sustain various incentive schemes available. In achieving the objectives of this study, data were sourced from both primary and secondary sources. Primary sources consist of books and relevant journals while secondary data were gathered from cases from Dangote Cement Plc., Ibese. The findings were that a number of incentives (monetary, tangible and non tangible non-monetary) play prominent and significant roles in enhancing employees’ productivity in private organizations in Nigeria. The paper recommends that management should come up with short term employee attraction and retention mechanisms. The company cannot go far with unmotivated employees.
