Ethnic Consciousness. Forms of Identity Manifestation in the Work of Bedros Horasangian

Summary/Abstract: In our paper, we will focus on one of the less addressed aspects of literary criticism, that of the Armenian ethnic identity vein. It is our interest to identify aspects of the ethnic components and to analyze how the Armenian ethnic consciousness influences the way Bedros Horasangian writes. We will focus, in the analysis of the texts, on the identification of the marks, direct or indirect, but also on their role in the construction of the writer's style, following to highlight if ethnicity is relevant in Bedros Horasangian's literature. Moreover, we will seek to understand who the recipient of Bedros Horasangian’s writings is, whether his discourse is addressable to anyone and anytime, given that the message of his texts visits the depths of human nature.
