Summary/Abstract: This article traces the attitude of the Young Liberals Party to the proclamation and defense of the Bulgarian independence in 1908-1909. Highlights of the events and the reactions of the liberals of D. Tonchev to them are analyzed. The explanation of the international relations and the politics of the great powers and the Balkan countries are also discussed.
